Tempered Eagles by TimeTurbine
Tempered Eagles
This is one of the small details I just finished putting into a new buckler. Made from 12ga 4130 chrome-moly, raised from a single piece all by hand I put about 35 hours into the whole piece itself and about 4-5 hours for just the eagle. I just finished tempering it today, springs steels are great but they are a chore to work with. They just have their own needs, I still prefer mild steel and copper for sculpting but the springs steels are growing on me. For armour at least :P

A lot of new faces around here.
So I just hit a point tonight where I realized EXACTLY how much work this is going to be to finish. At least I'm chasing from the front finally.

So If your a survivalist or love medieval fantasy then this is the web comic for you.
THE WOODSMEN is a project just now getting off the ground in this new web comic that i'm proud of! Its new and we still have a long way to go but i'm quite happy with the progress so far :) I know the artist and the challenging road he's taken to get to this point and congratulate him on figuring out the website on top of doing all the art. I'm lucky enough not only to help out and be a part of the process but i do the inks as well. Also Some of my Armour designed for the Woodsmen will be going up for sale as the website develops along here so that's exciting as well!!  I hope you'll enjoy reading the stories we're coming out with as much as we enjoy creating them! NEW POSTS EVERY Wednesday!

How did you learn metalwork? Do you offer classes?
TimeTurbine Featured By Owner Apr 1, 2014  Hobbyist Traditional Artist
Took basic metal working classes, listened to anyone who would give me advice, looooooots of trial and error. Practice and patience. And as of now no. I don't have the facility nor the expertise...or a large enough portfolio to think about offering classes, But if you'd like I'll keep you in mind if I start teaching folk.
